Hello Dominic! I also remember you from those days, and Ernie and Jim too. Blackmore and Brentwood were the first folk clubs I went to - Blackmore was run by Dave Geliher and Simon Thorndycraft back then. I also went to Chelmsford, in the Saracen's and later when it moved into a night club, on the disco's night off (!) As you say, the local folk scene was very strong at the time, with plenty of clubs and lots of very good local performers, as well as bringing in guests. I was very much a novice myself but there were a lot of good people to learn from (I even went to Nigel's guitar evening class for a while).
