So, as some of you know, I had the privilege of having a heart attack on September 22, 2010. Got real lucky and had no real permanent damage.

My solution was to become a cardiac athlete.

I went into serious cardiac rehab and celebrated my six-month anniversary by completing the Philadelphia American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb in about 14 minutes. That was a run up a 50-floor building.

Well, the year has come and gone and this year it's time to get serious about putting up a nice number in my age range (I'm 52).

So the deal is, we do this for glory but we also do it for money. My dad has COPD, and his dad's death was accelerated by his going into the Lancashire UK coal-pits at the age of 12 or so.

Yeah, it's a 50-floor run that I'm going to do "once for the money," but I practice it on a stair-mill it most days of the week, sometimes twice in a day. So I'm not gonna die.

So if you can find it in your heart to toss a few bucks our way for the Lung Association, I'd sure appreciate it.

It's easy. Just go here and do your thing.

It won't hurt a bit.

Well, not for you.

For me, it hurts like hell, but it kind of hurts so good.

A penny a step is enough. There are 1088.
