I hate to have to break the news to y'all, but this tedious song, with its bleak images and dreary tune, is one of the reasons why people think they hate folk music.

The other reason is "If I Had a Hammer."

I completely understand those here who would rather talk about their actual cats than about this song. My own cat has never gone away - she enjoys being empress of her little realm and would never leave it.
