Interesting study linked to above. It certainly matches my own experience that working-class people are *generally* better mannered, less pushy and more polite "please, thankyou, sorry" etc. than posher types. Perhaps unthinking rudeness may have something to do with a sense of superiority? I find ASDA a breeze to shop in, while the big Sainsbury's are awful.
