I still prefer the fighging vehicles as the soldier complains that his rifle is useless. Ok, that could be because of the children in the crowd as he would not shoot if they were in danger. BUT he is wounded! And I don't think it were the children who wounded him.
There is no mentioning of riots or crowds or Ulster, so I think it is a general anti-war song.
