Thread Name: Lyr Req: Three Rusty Nails
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Three Rusty Nails
Hello, hi flier-
We're talking about several "Rusty Nails" songs in this thread. All of them are too maudlin for my taste and my theological perspective - but we're here to provide music information, whether we like the songs or not. The lyrics for this particular song are posted above.

I haven't found sheet music, but you can find an "accompaniment cd" at http://www.christianbook.com (click). I guess the "accompaniment cd" is for Christian Karaoke, or something. Seems funny that the accompaniment is so easy to find, but not the sheet music.

It appears that the "came from Galilee" song titled "Three Rusty Nails" was most famously recorded by Mike Purkey, pastor of Lenexa Christian Center in Lenexa, Kansas. If you contact Mike Purkey Ministries, http://www.mikepurkey.org/, I'm sure they can tell you how to get sheet music. I think it's Mike Purkey singing the song on this YouTube Video. Like I say, it doesn't jive with my theological perspective, but I can see how people like him - check out this video.

Although the song is identified with Purkey, whose recording calls it "Three Rusty Nails", this page (click) quite definitively says that the song is titled "Three Old Rusty Nails" and was written by Bret Walton. I'm sure you can find out how to get sheet music at http://www.bretwalton.com. Walton's recording of "Three Old Rusty Nails" at MySpace.
