I had hoped that when our judiciary gave their backing to this extradition, Mr Tappin would receive the representation we have been led to believe applies to US citizens.

Not so, it would seem, since the US government, having set him up with a sting operation which would arguably constitute entrapment under UK law, are now determined to imprison him for a term which would not even be meted out to murderers of the most extreme kind in the UK.

Far from receiving "due process", as any reasonable man would understand the term, he is being treated as guilty even before he goes to trial.

This sixty five year old businessman who has never raised a violent hand to anyone and whose crime was the purchase of some batteries (offered for sale by US government agents), is being portrayed as a danger to the American public and refused bail.

What do these twerps think he is going to do?....cut somebody's throat with his credit card?

It is obvious that the US DoHS (Department of Hostile Senility?) has already decided he is guilty and fully intends to put him away until he is one hundred years old.

Land of the free and Home of the brave?.....What a joke!

More like Land of the paranoid and Home of the vindictive.

And the worst of this situation is that apparently the US public are unaware of what is being done in their name, so the news of these events is obviously being suppressed on that side of the Atlantic.
