I guess ICU psychosis/syndrome is incredibly common. Cindi, Tom's nurse this weekend and today, said yesterday that of her three patients this weekend, two were paranoid and showing all the symptoms of ICU syndrome.

Besides the Haldol which helps to keep him calm, the "cure" is getting him the hell out of the 24 hour light, voices, activity, etcet etcet of the ICU. And, unfortunately, right now there isn't another suitable room available.

I'm going to bed. I really hope I don't get a paranoid phone call in the wee hours...
