I agree with Saul - the Palin case bears no resemblance to Fluke's.

Ms Fluke stood up to explain the reasons why women, including her peers, might need to use the contraceptive pill. She was not speaking purely for herself and was not, so far as can be seen, looking for self-promotion.

Bristol Palin writes a self serving blog, which puts her out in the public arena and therefore, as with all public figures, open to comment and derision. She cannot help but be aware of the possible result of this activity, given who her mother is and the publicity surrounding her illegitimate child and her love life.

Comparing the two is apples and oranges.

Old saying - if you can't stand the heat, stay out the kitchen. Maybe Ms Palin should keep a lower profile if she doesn't like the negatives.
