Our 30-year-old wedding present brass analog (looked like an oversized pocket watch), ran on a AA battery alarm clock died in January. I wanted a traditional looking analog with an alarm not too annoying that would run on a single AA. Thought I'd found a decent replacement in that Westclox Big Ben -- a line of clocks that used to be well made and reliable. This Seiko seems to fit the bill. Probably won't last as long as as the old one, but at least it seems to work well and has already lasted longer than that Big Ben which self destructed less than a week after it was received.
