Subject: RE: Exercise & Declutter March into Spring 2012
I've bought the polystyrene beads for the haybox, and found a Le Creuset iron casserole which will fit in the old cool box - a little close to two sides, but since the box itself is insulated, that should not be a problem. There is actually enough room for the casserole and a smaller version underneath, so I could do a whole meal.

I have a book first published in 1939, presented to Elizabeth Gaskell College of Education in 1968 by a Mrs Birley, and then withdrawn from Manchester Polytechnic - somehow it then arrived in the south.

Lovely statement in the opening para - "haybox cookery is ideal for the servantless house"! I was hoping it had ideas for complete meals, but not. I do doubt its suggestions for fish - boil gently 10 minutes and cook inb haybox 2 1/2 hours. That's perfectly cooked? Overdone before arriving in the haybox, I would have thought.

Then there's "Minced Shape", & "Sheep's Head Mould".
