A good friend who runs an am-dram company in Cheshire and is involved with the Davenham Theatre recently started running also some Jazz (and now, Folk) concerts at the theatre, and asked me if I was interested. I fought the temptation hard, explaining that I am taking a sabbatical, but then he mentioned that the concerts are sponsored by the local brewery (Tatton), and I suddenly felt a wave of magnanimity (magnanimousness? magnanimocity? supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?) overtake me.
