I know you all mean well, but please stop "creating" problems where there are none. The only PROBLEM that will exist when Tom comes home is our floor -- which is deteriorating 35+ year old subflooring usually covered by area rugs. The rugs will be a hazard...but so are the holes in the floor. But there's a solution and it's already been planned around. The rugs will, of course, be taken up. And I can probably get the right sized heavy mat with tapered edges that can be rolled over (and not tripped over) through a beauty salon supply place with the help of my stylist.
I'm not concerned about equipment -- even if we have to buy a combo, it's covered by Tom's insurance.
It's not important whether Sally Army is open on Sundays...I WORK on Sundays so won't be shopping on that day anyway. And Tom won't be home for awhile yet anyway (though a clue as to when that might be would be nice.)
I'm sorry...I'm a bit bitchy and have been feeling...oh, I don't know. "Down" I guess covers it. Just Wednesday and today. No real reason (unless you count the job situation), just a bit of low level anxiety and depression, which, I think, is hardly surprising considering how much I'm juggling. AND my right contact lens is driving me nuts. It's as if there's a smudge in the middle of it and I have to keep blinking to clear it. (RGP not soft.) I've taken it out, cleaned it, and put it back in FOUR times (once in the parking lot at Dunkin' Donuts) this afternoon. So I wasn't seeing well on the way home and cut my excursions short. Dropped off stuff at Goodwill, but it was a zoo, so didn't do much more than a quick swing through. Skipped Sally Army. Did the minimum at Market Basket, too, because it was a zoo. Remind me to never go into a store on a Saturday, especially if you're having vision problems in one eye. Ach!
(Oh, had a nice visit with Tom. Took him his coffee K-cups. A high school friend and his wife came to visit and, in the middle of the lively conversation, Tom got a call from a former student of his [currently living in Thailand -- yes, he called from Thailand] at Kingsley Hall back in the '60s. He had recently tracked Tom down through me at Facebook and this was the first time he and Tom had talked since the '60s.)
Going to go upstairs and take my contacts out to soak, call Tom, and suck my thumb for awhile.
