There should be no obligation for anyone to HAVE to write folksongs. You write what you feel. If you feel sythesizer Celtic music, then that's how you choose to express yourself, it shouldn't be attacked. I write what I WANT to, and have no desire to write memorable folk-ish songs about things I don't care about. There is a right to choose how you represent yourself in music. It shouldn't be criticized because SOME people don't like it.
