Thread Name: Chord Req: Where Are You (from Déanta)
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Where Are You (from Déanta)
I fingerpick this song, switching between some Travis "pinch patterns" and arpeggios, as the mood and melody strikes me. Don't let the names of the chords scare you. Notice they're all just the normal "E" chord and barred #minor chord (without the barre) up and down the neck -- which leaves the second string (B note) open to "drone" throughout – let it "ring".
Just play the four middle strings (or sometimes the "E"'s Open Bass). I think you'll like singing over it.

E/B                         =        0   2   2 1 0 X
B/F#                        =        X   9   9 8 0 X
F#m add11/C#        =        X   4   4 2 0 X
A add9/E                =        X   7   7 6 0 X
C#m7                        =        X 11 11 9 0 X

Of course, for variety you can throw in any of these inversions, "below," at any time. I'll usually play the "above" for the chorus and the inversions, (except the High E chord) for the verses. Still, you can play the "above" straight through and sound proud.

E/B                         =        X 14 14 13 0 X (use rarely, if ever)
B                        =        X   2   4   4 0 X
F#m7sus4/A        =        X   0   4   6 0 X
A add9                =        X   0   2   2 0 X
C#m7                        =        X   4   6   6 0 X

For simplicity's sake, I'll just write the chord's base to show the progression.

E// B// F#m// A//
E// B// C#m// A//
E// B// F#m// A//
E// B// A // F#m//
At bar "17" (the turnaround) I play the lower A add9 inversion.
