Cheers! I've now done the same - took me awhile to figure out how, though. I didn't get any sort of notification of an add, either in G+ or Gmail, and finally located a "Have you in circles" heading under the relevant tab, and there you were. But I had to go hunting. G+ seems to be the opposite of "in yer face". (Still don't know what that g+1 button actually does...)
