A one-time friend with whom Bonnie Shaljean and I once shared a house was, I believe, responsible for the loss of my three album set of the David Munrow "Art of Courtly Love". At any rate, at some time in our residence in that house the albums vanished and never reappeared, and no explanation was ever offered as to where they went.
And then a colleague of mine at a school once lent me the cassette recordings of the BBC radio adaptation of "The Lord of the Rings" and I think, to my shame, I still have them somewhere....
