Here are some more tips, but of course they may be totally useless! Go to bed at roughly the same time each night to establish a routine. Do not watch TV ,or stimulate the brain with going online, for at least 30mins before turning in. Have a routine of clothes-folding, teeth-cleaning etc each night so your body knows it's bedtime. Have a light snack or warm drink so you're not going to bed on an empty stomach. Keep your lights/lamps down very low for 30 mins beforehand. (My bedside lamp is only 10Watt, and our sitting room light has a dimmer switch.) Keep the bedroom completely dark (our village has no streetlights, but use blackout curtains if necessary) Have the bedroom cool or cold. Drink some water before sleeping. Have lots of air in the room. Wear nothing at all in bed. Have only cotton sheets, duvet cover and pillowcases. If you do wake up, get up immediately rather than lying there fuming! Go back to bed when calmer. If your partner snores, shove him/her with your knee. (as my husband does sometimes!) Sleep tight!
