How does this area tie in to Guthries life?
IIRC, his LA years were as a radio performer with "Lefty Lou",
and writing columns for the communist paper (which were collected
in a paperback many years ago).
Was the area a skid row when he was there? site of the radio
station where he performed? Did he live in the area?
