I have an open-back banjo that wants to be played a lot more often than I ever will. (I made it, many years ago, so I'm sentimental about it, but more about it gettin gplayed I think.) You should try it out sometime Bonnie. Like WHEN YOU COME TO VISIT. There, now you have an excuse. Besides, I know where there's this Fairbanks...
Of course, if you hang around Mandolin Brothers much longer, you'll probably not have any money to spend on stringy things for, oh, the next twenty-five years or so. But when you find the right one, you'll know in a moment.
