There's a real feeling of despair amongst scientists at the moment at how the hell they're going to get the message of this disaster across. The problem is politicians the world over don't want to address a really sticky subject, and with a distinctly anti-science atmosphere on both sides of the pond then science has a problem. It simply does not have the resources to compete with the corporate behemoths who are bankrolling our leaders.

This anti-science movement is also affecting education resulting in the creeping commercialisation of our education systems - a disaster for future generations.

I have no idea how we're going to get out of this. With the US and the UK under the thumb of right-wing governments who aren't interested in the truth what can anyone do? What governments, politicians and business hate people who make it their business to study the world in depth?
