Subject: Origins: Book of contemporary english folksong?
Back in 1979/1980 I saw Roy Bailey perform in Cleethorpes and heard the testimony of Patience Kershaw by Frank Higgins for the first time. He kindly sent me a copy of the words but I do not know which book he got them from. Years later in a library in either Singapore or Brunei I came across a book which had not only Patience Kershaw, but I think also Palaces of Gold by Leon Rosselson. Does anybody know anything about this book?

Is there any collection of songs from folk song writers' competitions? Do such competitions still take place?

I look forward to your replies.
