He was a balls-to-the-wall race car driver and later designed and built the infamous AC Cobra....
It was 1964 and my dad was working for Ford Motor Company and he got a hold of one of these Cobras... I was 17 and had already done quite a bit of drag racing so I needled and needled and next thing ya' know I spent the spring & summer drag racing that AC Cobra thru out the mid-Atlantic and had a ball...
So I have a special place in my heart for Carroll Shelby...
