Thread Name: Tune Req: Robbie Burns Day
Subject: Tune Req: Robbie Burns Day
I was doing some googling and ran across this closed 6 year old thread that I hadn't seen before. It asks about a fiddle tune, a jig called Robbie Burns Day that the poster says sounds more like an Irish tune.

I believe that this is a tune that I wrote in Port Hope, Ontario about 15 years ago. I wrote it on January 25, but didn't realise that it was Robbie Burns Day till my wife told me, thus the name of the tune.

I introduced it to the Irish session in Peterborough and the members of Freshwater Trade asked me if they could include it on their first album. A few years later, Zeke Mazurek included it on his second album, I Ain't Dead Yet II and invited me to play mandolin on it.

I'm not sure if the original poster is still interested, but if he/she is, I can post it and link it here.
