This got discussed sometime a couple-or-five years ago. At the time my question was, "can you get a placebo effect from something you don't believe in", because I gave it a what's-too-lose try and my cramping reduced by at least 80%. I'm fairly certain that my legs weren't disturbed by the lump enough for that factor to be significant.
