Our govt. are planning to create more jobs, by allowing companies to fire people whenever they want. I'm sure there's some arguments to that somewhere, though seemingly unsupported by any evidence according to the resident expert fellow on Newsnight last night. Meanwhile, I wonder how removing worker's job security will encourage people to take out mortgages or indeed other loans they may need, to say buy a car or initiate a business? I can't see 'growth' being a product of consumer anxiety over a lack of job security. Not that I care for any of that stuff anyway mind. I'm all in favour of increased micro-consuming.
