I think it's not "money-grubbing", but a way to introduce Bob to people who don't know about him, in a career-spanning way, for not a huge price, and on only 2 CD's. Before the new "Essential Bob Dylan", which goes for $22.00, you had to buy Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Volumes I, II (double album) and III separately...together they cost around $45-50. When I start listening to someone I've never heard before, I always like to go to compilations first, to get a feel for it, than that lets me branch out and discovery the full range as I see fit. All my stuff--ELO, Queen, The Who...I started off with compilations. So yes, the album may seem gratuitous to veteran who have "been around" and have owned all the albums for years...but to the new generation, they are the seeds of the future.--Matt
