Oh, well...in the UK. The title suggested relevance to Obama. I have little idea what the deeper issues are in the UK. I DO know that the USA could use some modernization of the details in national elections. We really need to abandon the Electoral College and allow direct voting for the president.
Sadly, that requires an amendment to the constitution, and it is unlikely to be approved by conservative states who LIKE their ability to block progress in favor of narrow 'states rights' positions. Remember, Al Gore got more votes than GW Bush in 2000.
