B in T - I fully understand the difference between animal and vegetable gelling agents - In an earlier posting I pointed out for Bobert's benefit that the boat in question was not surrounded by an animal product. The line from the news report read as follows :-
Artist Harry Parr, from jellymongers Bompas and Parr, said the mixture used sodium alginate derived from seaweed, industrial dye and a lime flavouring.
I notice that the link you put a couple of posts above this was to the firm responsible for the boat floating green jelly.
