Thread Name: Seagull Guitars
Subject: RE: Seagull Guitars
What's the scoop with those little "Grand" Seagulls?

I went to the music store in Sydney, Nova Scotia hoping to find a folk-size Seagull to try out, but all they had was the Grand kind (very small bodied).

I liked its sound and feel, but before I go back for another look I want to know: why is it so small? Is it supposed to be for children, or for hiking trips? Are there styles of playing it's supposed to be particularly suited or unsuited to? For anyone who's tried one, do you think it's as good as the dreadnought size or folk size for sound?

Last but not least: will people make fun of me if I show up with a tiny little guitar? And if it's made in Quebec, don't LaSiDo know that grand means big?
