My wife's nephew Hoby Milner just got drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies. He's a really fine young man with a good head on his shoulders - attending the University of Texas. He's a southpaw pitcher equally adept in the outfield or batting. And it's nice that the Phillies will assist him with his last semesters of his college education. We were hoping that he would be signed by either the Texas Rangers or the Atlanta Braves so he's be closer to his family but we're not going to complain.
In a strange twist of fate the man who will be signing Hoby to his contract is the same man who signed Hoby's father to the Toronto Blue Jays many years ago when he started his professional career.
