Mondegreens appear everywhere: I've only heard this once & thought the final line was a marvelous pun on 'Nottingham'. I had heard the line:
For Robin Deals for the countryside, and the Sheriff does Notting Hammmmmmm!
As, "and the sheriff does not him hang!"
