Thread Name: support for Muppett's Challenge
Subject: muppett's walk 4 Amos 2012
Amos Pascal Harker (My youngest Grandson) has recently had his 2nd Birthday and a grand little chap he is, however he was born with a rare liver condition known as Billary Atresia and when he was 9 weeks old he had to undergo a 7hr operation to save his life. The operation was successful, however it is likely that he'll need to have a liver transplant, at some stage in the future, he also has to visit the Children's Liver unit at Leeds General Infirmary regularly.

With this in mind Amos's parents, relatives and family friends have been involved in a series of fundraising activities over the past 18 months and the money raised has been split equally between the Children's Liver Disease Foundation to help with research and for ward 12 & the Children's Liver unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

My contribution to the fundraising Last year was to walk the Dales way there and then walk back, a total distance of 165 miles. I did it over 7 days. This year I'm doing another walk, 200 miles in 9 days. Below are details of the route;

Day 1 July 19TH – Bowness on Windermere to Burneside – 10 miles
Day 2 July 20th -   Burneside to Dent                    - 24 miles
Day 3 July 21st -   Dent to Kettlewell                    - 26 miles
Day 4 July 22nd - Kettlewell to Ilkley                    - 24 miles
Day 5 July 23rd - Ilkley to Whetherby                    - 25 miles
Day 6 July 24th - Whetherby to York                     - 20 miles
Day 7 July 25th - York to Helmsley                     - 27 miles
Day 8 July 26th - Helmsley to Newton upon Rawcliffe - 25 miles
Day 9 July 27th - Newton upon Rawcliffe to Whitby   - 19 miles
