as to knowing about her work, Mike & I were talking with Stan Hugill during our early festival days and he emphatically pronounced that C. Fox Smith was the finest writer of nautical poetry, bar none. Of course, being the days before the web & Google ( which I only knew as a name for a REALLY BIG Number) and located in the US of A, we couldn't locate any of "his" books. Stan failed to mention that the C stood for Cicely. Not sure if had any of Basil Lubbock's books at the time, because some of her work is to be found there.

It took awhile, but thanks to you guys & other unsung sleuths, we have the fruits of your labor to enjoy.
