I have been reading a fascinating history of the Central Intelligence Agency from WW II on. It is a dramatic story of psychotic, delusionary, arm-waving nutballs lying and mismanaging the AMerican government from within. It really gave me pause, to see clearly described the kind of perfervid insanity laid out in black and white that I instinctively knew must have been in play throughout the 50's and 60's. It gave names and events to what was back then just a cloud of absolutely untrustworthy gawdawful insanity. Among others, John FOster and Aleen Dulles, the Bobbsy Twins of Drooling Psychosis in AMerican Gummint.

My point is that I can sympathize with GfS and LH's broad mistrust and their assertions about the secret string pulling at the top levels of government. But like the economy, it doesn't actually percolate from the top down, but from the hidden middle outward.
They would both speak more clearly if they could identify the actual sources of what they instinctively abhor.
