""The proper way to cook lobster...""
I grew up in a lobster area and have eaten it just about every way one could imagine. IMO, each way was good, (though some better to my taste than others)- that's the marvelous thing about the American lobster and its close European relative (not the rather tasteless crayfish stuff they call lobster in the Carribean area).
So, IMO, there is no such thing as a proper way to cook, prepare or eat lobster. It is all up to experimenting with your tastebuds. (BTW, I find cooking in seawater results in a tad bit "oversalty" tasting lobster - I prefer less salt used in cooking).
