The drum is called a Gandira, and it was me playing it. I got it donkey's years ago in the far off land of Princes Quay, top floor, where they had a shop selling ethnic stuff. It cost me all of £16, and it's good for sessions, since it's very strong and has good attack - you can hear it well, without it crushing everything else. The skin is vey thick - about3-4 mill - probably some damn wildebeest or camel or something. As you saw, I play it with my hand, not a tipper, and it's also good because it fits into the pocket of my guitar bag. I have absolutely no idea where you can get them from.
