"The selenium IS a by-product of phosphate mining."

Yes. I am sure that it is. But, for comic effect, Manvi implied that that was ALL that it is. Comedy over whole truth? Certainly. DO I have a problem with that? Not at all. I was just responding to leena

"And finally, isn't it odd that when he decides to get personal and confront somebody, it's a low-level civil servant, almost certainly a woman, at the front desk of a government office? What a risk taker!"

My point being that they go for laughs above all. Stewart explained this pretty well when he made the speech that killed "Crossfire."

Saul Goldie. I could take your bet and win it pretty easily. Fox does do a couple of hours of straight news a day including reading AP and Reuters stories right off the "wire." According to the terms you specified, I could put that up against pretty much anything that the Daily Show's "News" team says on any show and show it to me more "true" unless of course you consider hyperbole and sarcasm to be "truth."
