HELP! Does anyone have a clue about a song from waaaaaaay back somewhere between the 20's and 40's, about a man who gets tossed off a roof by his love, and then he asks her if she still loves him ?!

I know this is a long shot, but trying to find this for a friend...have had no success in general online searches.
