I'm afraid Jon's fears are confirmed. I've been investigating voice options for my company and while I was checking other info from Hearme, I asked about support for the free version.I wrote, "There is a Hearme chat room that a group of musicians from around the world uses a couple of times a week that has become completely unstable and unreliable. We'd love to continue it's use but cannot seem to get technical support to address the issues we're having."
Unfortunately the response I got back was as follows:
"HearMe does not currently offer a support opportunity for the free Voice Chat software beyond the support@hearme.com e-mail method. This product will be discontinued at the end of the year. HearMe will offer a new product and more features, at that time. Please check our Web Site regularly for any updates.
