By the way, Sawzaw, when I attended the U. of Washington, I knew a fair number of foreign exchange students:   English, French, German, Swedish, lots of Indians, a couple of Egyptians, one from Kenya, another from Estonia.

They came to "this conservative shithole" because their home countries subsidized their education abroad. Cultural exchange sort of thing. Their tuition and living expenses were paid for them, just as they would have been had they studied in their home countries.
