I think there's plenty of hope for people on a personal level, Ebbie. Just not in regards to the Democratic and Republican party process in the USA, that's all.

It's amusing that some Americans are thinking of moving to Canada now because "the USA is too socialist"...!!! LOL!!!!!!!! Well, we'll find a nice little igloo and a set of sled dogs for all of them so they can live the kind of libertarian life they're fondly envisioning having here. ;-D And we'll make sure to exempt them from socialized health care, public schools, access to public roads, libraries, parks, and all that other horrible socialist stuff that they fear and loathe. Each refugee will be issued a flintlock rifle, a knife, a blue star, and one hockey ticket...for the Maple Leafs! ;-)

He's playing the political game and trying to get votes from a lot of scared people who have no real idea of what they're voting either for or against. Like usual. They base their thinking on easily identifiable labels that have been locked in their minds by a lifetime of brainwashing (advertising)...

It's marketing, Don. Not rational thinking. Marketing. The best and most heavily marketed product always gets the sale. In 2008 Obama was by far the best marketed product in the big presidential sale. This year? I don't know yet. It's too early to say. But I'm still betting on Obama. That's a guess, mind you. I wouldn't be so bold as to make a prediction.
