I'm enjoying reading the daily offerings; hope they keep coming along. Another new one: ********
New Moon Lilt
Sleep slips through breezes, damply slides, Drips down with rain to moistened earth. Sleep evades your weary eyes, Sluices forth with New Moon's birth. Hushabye, shushabye, sleep child, sleep.
Sleep whispers secrets, sweetly sings An echoed Wood Thrush evening song. Sibilance of sound brings rest As boats of night float birds along. Hushabye, shushabye, sleep child, sleep.
Sleep wonders, wanders; drowsily drifts Through nighttime meadows, sparkling streams. Gleaming salamanders sip Beneath the scattered lights of dreams. Hushabye, shushabye, sleep child, sleep.
