Thread Name: Jim Moray tour
Subject: Jim Moray in Bristol, July 20th
Following his exceptionally well-received recent album Skulk, Jim Moray presents the debut of his new band The Skulk Ensemble at the Fleece in Bristol on July the 20th.

Featuring sister Jackie Oates, long time collaborators Nick Cooke (Mawkin) and Dave Burbidge, and new cohorts Joe Allen and Nick Malcolm, the band will be playing only three gigs this year - and this is the only one outside a festival! Playing a mix of old and new songs, acoustic and electric, this is (literally) a one-off.

Doors 7:30
Jim on stage 9:15

Here are some things that people said about Skulk -

"While Low Culture was quite a landmark in his career with its warm marriage of tradition and adventure, it will now have to fight Skulk to be regarded as his best" - fRoots

"Let's never again speak of Jim Moray as a folk wunderkind. That implies promise not yet fully realised (…) Skulk is his fifth album and with it he emerges as a mature artist" - Songlines

"Those who feel that the folk idiom has nothing to express to the truly modern and young should acquire this album forthwith (…) a genuinely fabulous record" - The Independent On Sunday

"Impeccably sung and flawlessly executed by one of folk's true originals" - Uncut
