Telstar by the Ventures is one of the worst cover records that I have ever heard - no excuse from the Ventures who have generally been appalling after the original Walk Don't Run and Perfidia which were great, and their respective B sides.

Telstar by the Tornados (please note no E!) was little more than a novelty with a good guitar solo. The drumming by Clem Cattini was just about as twee as it gets. Still it was 50 years ago.
