Subject: RE: BS: SenateTeaPubs: No Tax Breaks for Hiring
Let me tell you something about hiring for a business. If you have demand you will hire. If you don't you won't. It is certainly not about the taxes.

Lets assume the demand exists.

Say you own a consulting company. You have 50 employees and are grossing 10 million a year. You ad 10 employees, (20%) your gross goes up to 12 million (20%). The employees cost you 100 K a pop. Your extra net earnings before taxes are $ 1,000,000 and as Romney would call you a small business owner (S corp) paying tax as an individual.

If your highest marginal tax rate is 33% (as it is now) or 39% as President Obama proposes, do you NOT hire those people because your marginal net increase in income would "only" be $610,000 instead of $667,000? Because if you don't hire them, your competitor will. Or your best people will go start their own company and earn your margins on their labor.

That's is the beauty of the market system. Resources go where the money is.
