Yeah, but it keeps philosophers off the streets, out of bars, and out of jail. Nobody cares if Philosopher A calls Philosopher B a "Wittgensteinian poopy-head" or thrusts a Platonic dagger into some Nietzsche-loving son-of-a-Sartre. There might be postulates, indeterminacies, and sorites splashed over the floors, walls and ceilings but the cops don't (usually) have to deal with gore and human bodies -- just snifters of spilled brandy.
