A dhow is a small wooden tradin' ship with lateen sails like they been usin' out of North Africa for the last coupla thousands years at least. A felucca is some other kinda small wooden ship, seems to me, and from the same general area...Mediterranean and North Africa. Them Barbary Pirates used to use dhows and fellucas, fer instance, but they also used bigger warships like Chebecs, Galleys, etc.
