So I came to this thread, foolish mortal what I am, hoping to find Irish songs and stuff to be sung by WOMEN from a WOMAN'S perspective. At least, I thought that was what the question was. Silly Katy. Most of the song suggestion would be perfect for a dyke to sing, and, being bi, I might be able to get away with it, but come on fellas, read the words in the question before you put on your ethno-musicologist hat and tell me how to build a watch when I am asking for the time.
