People climb into cages with lions and tigers and tell them not to attack all the time. They're called circus acts.

Dominant means we can round up other species and put them where we want them -- cattle pens, Sea World, research laboratories. It also means we can eat them if we choose and can avoid being eaten by them. I doubt you've ever seen a grizzly wearing a human-skin hat, eh?
